Revitalization of the Hong Kong Sze Yap Commercial & Industrial Association Chan Lai So Chun Memorial School

計劃背景

近年學額需求不斷下降，青衣多間學校已被空置。區內人士對如何善用有關空置學校持不同意見，包括長者院舍、職業再培訓中心等，而葵青區議會亦討論過有關議題。是次計劃希望提供平台讓各方就校舍用途達成共識，並讓公眾就其設計提供意見。

Due to the declining demand for school places, many schools in Tsing Yi are left vacant. District concerning parties are holding different point of views about how to reuse the sites, including elderly home and vocational training centre. This project aims at providing a platform for different parties to reach consensus on the new use of the campus and gathering opinion for design.

Transportation Facilities for Elderly at Wan Hong Estate

計劃背景

雲漢邨位於觀塘北面斜坡，大部份居民為長者，由於地勢關係，長者出入甚為不便，而相關設施如涼亭、長椅、扶手電梯、交通接駁服務等亦欠完善，減低長者外出意欲，容易造成「隱蔽長者」。此計劃希望提供平台讓區內長者在從用家身份提供意見, 了解他們的實際訴求及需要，一同提出改善該區長者設施的建議。

Wan Hon Estate is located at the Kwun Tong North steep slope.  Most of the residents are elderly and not easy to travel due to the hilly environment and insufficient transportation facilities, e.g. pavilions, benches escalators, shuttle services and etc. They are reluctant to travel and become “Hidden Elderly”. This project aims to provide a platform for the elderly to express their opinion from the perspective of daily users to recommend elderly facilities enhancement proposal for the district.

From Concept to Practice: Public Participatory Programme for Catering Facilities in On Tai District

計劃背景

馬鞍山鞍泰區的餐飲設施不足，為居民生活帶來不便。該區現時有一空置用地，民康會認為有潛力作餐飲發展及單車停泊設施，並以計劃以社會企業形式運作。透過公眾參與活動，有關團體希望能深入了解居民對有關建議的意見，並向當局建議落實計劃。

The insufficiency of catering facilities at Ma On Shan On Tai District brings inconvenience to the residents. To solve the problem, MOSA proposes to develop a piece of vacant land at the  district into restaurant and cycling facilities in the form of social enterprise operation. Through the public participatory activities, it is expected to acquire the residents’ views of the project and hence submit the proposal to the corresponding governmental departments for implementation.

Starting from the Community: Sai Kung Community Aspiration Study

計劃背景

Sai Kung, one of the most famous tourism spot in Hong Kong, attracts many visitors for sightseeing. Being the “Courtyard of Hong Kong”, Sai Kung is rapidly developing its tourism industry recently, yet there are a number of problems to be solved, e.g. the vacant buildings and transportation facilities.  This project aims to solicit the needs and views from the residents’ perspective and to propose a sustainable framework to enhance tourism development, district facilities and living environment for the district.

計劃背景

Yau Ma Tei has a long history of development: there are many graded historical buildings such as the Yau Ma Tei Cinema, fruit market, police station, shophouse, whilst there are also a number of intangible cultural heritage such as the Chinese opera, herbal tea store. All of these bring bits of nostalgia to such a vibrant and busy district. A series of public participatory activities will be held to design a number of heritage trails in order to demonstrate the special features of the Yau Ma Tei district.

計劃背景

逸東邨停車場使用率一直偏低，而區內的社區文康設施亦一直供不應求。對此, 領匯有意改變停車場用途以善用有關空間。當區議員希望透過公眾參與活動收集居民意願，並向有關部門反映及跟進。

The utility rate of the Yat Tung Estate car park remains low since it was built, while the community facilities are insufficient. Therefore, the LINK REIT planned to change the car park into other uses. Through a series of public engagement programme, the district councilor wishes to collect opinion from the residents to explore the possible future uses for the site.

A Step into Tai Po’s Heritage

計劃背景

Tai Po has been the home of the Hong Kong residents since the Sung Dynasty. Many heritages and historical sites were left.  With the rapid development of new towns, these heritages sites became scattered in the district.  Through a series of engagement activities, this project aims to arouse the public, in particular the youths, the awareness of heritage conservation.
